Guidelines for Statement of Interest

Please submit a statement of interest (approximately one page in length) that offers a general introduction to the proposed collaboration, including an account of the excellence of the proposed collaborator, and that addresses 3 of the 4 questions listed below:

  1. How might this project impact your work and your field -- and those of your proposed collaborator(s)?
  2. If we convened a 3+ hour dinner to explore the range of this fellowship’s possibilities, whom would you want to invite?  Please identify both the primary collaborators as well as other invitees to this exploratory conversation.  You can include named individuals (and their affiliations) and/or types of people (affiliations, artistic and scholarly practices, etc.)  Explain the invitation list if (as we hope) it is not self-evident why a particular person appears on your list.
  3. How would you describe the relationship between the project outlined in your proposal and your work to date?
  4. Wherein lies the risk and experimentation of the proposed collaboration?

Please submit electronically with FELLOWSHIP STATEMENT OF INTEREST in the subject line to:

Leslie Buxbaum Danzig, Program Curator, Gray Center for Arts and Inquiry, 773-834-1936, lbdanzig@uchicago.edu

FOR BEST CONSIDERATION FOR 2012-13 FELLOWSHIPS, PLEASE SUBMIT BY NOVEMBER 21, 2011.  Rolling submissions will be accepted.
