Time Suspension (back and forth)
2020
Sound

Time Suspension is an attempt to preserve the feeling of suspended time during the general lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic in spring 2020. As much as the lockdown has been difficult for many, I have personally enjoyed this moment very much: a sudden full stop to the rat race in the cultural world.

I will record two minutes of music every day from June 1st to June 30th. In the first minute I will look back and try to reproduce from memory the music from the previous day, in the second minute I will develop it. Going back by memory to the previous day and recording is a way to move back and forth in time, connect what was and what will be. These two overlap in the tiny moment of the now. For 30 days that moment will be two minutes long: one minute reproducing the past, and one minute in the now, extending directly into the future.
