Gwen Allen

Gwen Allen is Associate Professor of Art History San Francisco State University. Allen has written extensively about art and design for publications such as ArtforumBookforumArt JournalArtMargins, and East of Bourneo. She is also the author of Artists' Magazines: An Alternative Space for Art (MIT Press, 2011), and recently edited the volume The Magazine for the series Whitechapel: Documents of Contemporary Art series (MIT Press and the Whitechapel Gallery, 2016).
