Leigh Claire La Berge

Leigh Claire La Berge is the author of Scandals and Abstraction: Financial Fictions of the Long 1980s (Oxford, 2014) and Wages Against Artwork: Decommodified Labor and the Claims of Socially Engaged Art (Duke, 2019). She has collaborated with artists at venues including the Queens Museum, Mildred's Lane, and Pilchuck. She is currently working on a new book entitled, Marx for Cats: A Radical Bestirary. A former member of the Society of Fellows at the University of Chicago, she's thrilled to be at the Gray Center for the year.
